The rest of the hour will be dedicated to socializing with drink specials and free appetizers. All are welcome (you do not need to be a member of VBSR). Questions? contact Colin Davis at colind@good-point.net or 802-989-0895.

Blues Jam, Wednesday, September 19, 8 – 10pm

Join us every 3rd Wednesday for Blues Jam. Dennis Willmott from Left Eye Jump will provide lead guitar, bass, and drums and these guys will back you up or take a break and let you play. All musicians and blues fans are welcome! Everyone will get a chance to play.

David Bain, Thursday, September 20, 8 – 10pm

David Bain, who teaches creative writing at Middlebury, is a lifelong musician. During and after college, he was the first keyboardist for the legendary James Montgomery Blues Band, gigged with Bonnie Raitt, John Lee Hooker, T-Bone Walker, Bill Colwell, Chicago Bob Nelson, and Tom Principato, and was the blue-eyed soul brother in a Roxbury R&B group. For more than 10 years he soloed in a New York cafe while getting a publishing and writing career underway. Locally, he has played and recorded with a number of county groups. His solo piano and singing draws from all aspects of American roots music, from Fats Waller to Muddy Waters to Ray Charles to Louis Jordan to Randy Newman to Jerry Lee Lewis.

Silent Mind, Friday, September 21, 9pm – 12am

Silent Mind is the voice and music of Jamie Bright. From soul to folk and even folk rock, at times Silent Mind combines the influences of his youth to bring a sound reminiscent of Elliot Smith, Ryan Adams, and John Mayer. Listen even closer to hear lyrics of his life and experiences translated through song.

Karen Krajacic with Jon Rose, Thursday, September 27, 8 – 10pm

Multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter Karen Krajacic has over a decade of touring and performing experience under her belt with the harmonizing duo Folk By Association, as well as her recent collaborations with several VT musicians. She will be joined by lead guitarist Jon Rose on both original songs and eclectic covers from folk, rock, americana, and more.

Sarah Blacker, Friday, September 28, 9pm – 12am

Sarah Blacker’s music is a unique blend of acoustic rock, folk, and jazz with stand-out vocals and timeless songwriting with a quirky twist that helps to set her apart from other female singer/songwriters. Blacker has shared the stage with the likes of Sara Bareilles, Jason Isbell, the Wood Brothers, Carbon Leaf, Lucy Kaplansky and more. She accompanies herself on the guitar, ukulele and mandolin, and her unique voice and style reminds listeners of Feist, Regina Spektor, and Joni Mitchell.

Alba’s Edge, Saturday, September 29, 9pm – 12am

Scottish music with a heavy dose of Latin, Funk and Jazz. Called “a sweet hybrid” in the Huffington Post and “a lively best of both worlds” by World Music Central, Alba’s Edge draws on influences from jazz, funk and the music of Cuba and Brazil to infuse traditional Scottish melodies with new ideas without losing their essentially Scottish spirit. Their unique approach has earned praise from Jazz critics and World Music critics alike and appeals to an eclectic audience.
