Arts Walk | Friday, October 12 | 5 – 7pm

Mixed media exhibit by New York jazz musician Diallo House.  Live music by  Dayve Huckett  from 5 – 7 pm. Stay after Arts Walk for more great live music. From 7 – 8pm Stuck in the Middle will perform—Middlebury College’s freshest, cleanest, newest, all-male a cappella group. And from 9pm – 12am enjoy The Bob Mackenzie Band—offering a solid selection of blues classics, jump, swing, and rhythm & blues.

Stuck in the Middle | Friday, October 12 | 7 – 8pm

Stuck in the Middle (SIM) is Middlebury College’s freshest, cleanest, newest, all-male a cappella group. Their size and musical variety are considerable, large, and in charge, and they relish in providing the full, pleasurable aural experience to audiences of all shapes and sizes.

The Bob Mackenzie Band
Friday, October 12 | 9pm – 12am

The Bob Mackenzie Band offers a solid selection of blues classics, jump, swing, and rhythm & blues. This combo brings it home with tunes that will get you dancing, or simply let you enjoy the night watching and listening while the band takes you back through decades of great music. The band consists of Bob Mackenzie (vocals, harmonica), Dennis Willmott (guitar, vocals), David Bain (piano/organ/vocals), Brad Sourdiffe (bass), and John Wallace (drums).

Blues Jam | Wednesday, October 17 | 8 – 10pm

Join us every 3rd Wednesday for Blues Jam. Dennis Willmott from Left Eye Jump will provide lead guitar, bass, and drums and these guys will back you up or take a break and let you play. All musicians and blues fans are welcome! Everyone will get a chance to play.

Verbal Onslaught | Thursday, October, 18 | 9 – 11pm

Verbal Onslaught is Middlebury’s premier Spoken Word Open-Mic event that brings an urban arts community vibe to the beautiful Green Mountains. Shy and Outspoken poets, Freestylers, Cypherers, Improvisers, good listeners, loud hand-clappers and finger-snappers, and all kinds of performing artists are more than welcome.

David Bain | Friday, October 19 | 5 – 7pm

David Bain, who teaches creative writing at Middlebury, is a lifelong musician. His solo piano and singing draws from all aspects of American roots music, from Fats Waller to Muddy Waters to Ray Charles to Louis Jordan to Randy Newman to Jerry Lee Lewis. David’s musical tenure has included being the keyboardist for the legendary James Montgomery Blues Band, playing with Bonnie Raitt, John Lee Hooker, T-Bone Walker, Bill Colwell, Chicago Bob Nelson, and Tom Principato, and was the blue-eyed soul brother in a Roxbury R&B group.

Mark Lavoie | Saturday, October 20 | 5 – 7pm

For more than 30 years Mark Lavoie has been performing for crowds both large and small. His passion for and commitment to music, particularly blues harmonica, is admired by the many musicians who have played with him. Mark enjoys spreading the word about harmonica music and is an active member of national groups working to preserve and promote the harmonica as an accessible, inexpensive instrument.

The Big Mean Sound Machine
Saturday, October 20 | 9pm – 12am

Fusing elements of Afrobeat, 60s Garage Rock, 70s Funk, and Jamaican Dub rhythms, Big Mean Sound Machine cranks out the dirtiest, fattest, grooviest beats to keep you moving all night long.

Sound Investment Jazz Ensemble
Friday, October 26 | 9pm – 12am

The Sound Investment Jazz Ensemble is Middlebury College’s swingin’ 17-piece big band. It features great musicians playing the music that’s been called America’s National Treasure. The band is directed by Dick Forman, who’s been part of the Vermont jazz scene for decades. The evening is sure to keep fingers snapping and toes tapping.

Phil Yates & the Affiliates
Saturday, October 27 | 9pm – 12am

A triple bill of musically interconnected acts!  Phil Yates and the Affiliates headline the night with their eclectic blend of styles: with influences ranging from Elvis Costello and R.E.M. to Wilco and the Old 97′s. Phil Yates  is “too folky for the rockers and too rocky for the folkers.” Raph Worrick and Karen Ferguson Laundon of the Dirtminers will kick off the evening.
