This Week at 51 Main
Fat Baby, Thursday, October 8, 9:00 pm – 12:00 am
After toiling away for years in the depths of the service building at Middlebury College, Fat Baby exploded onto the live music scene in 2008 with their energized performances and funk-filled dance parties. The band’s upcoming album, Sloppy Transitions, weaves Taylor Smith’s stunning vocal work with Aaron Krivitzky’s stadium-ready guitar licks to create a record full of rock songs in their purest form. With Charlie Whistler joining the ranks on the electric bass, Fat Baby will prove to be unstoppable force to move feet moving all across Vermont.
Middlebury Arts Walk, Friday, October 9, 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Film artist Emily Hubley will be shown at 51 Main from October 6th to October 31st. Connected Quartet, Friday, October 9, 9:00 pm – 12:00 am
The Connected Quartet is an eclectic, experimental, jazz-fusion quartet of young musicians from all over the world. Their repertoire ranges from revamped standards, originals, and free form experimentations. Guaranteed a fresh experience that will thrill any audience.
Tubby Love, Saturday, October 10, 9:00 pm – 12:00 am
It’s not the size of the band, it’s the size of the Love. Here to spread the message of purely positive vibrations, Tubby Love is a heady force of futuristic reggae fusion. With songs like “Constant Motion” and “No One’s in Control”, the message of the music is a clear ear-opening experience for the awakening of the masses. The 5 piece Boston based band has shared the stage with up and coming reggae greats such as Passafire and Blue King Brown, and continues to make their way into the Future Roots music scene. Outwardly expressing their love for experimental music, Tubby Love is on the steady path of creating what some are calling a “Reggae Soul Revolution.”
